Skyflight sat near the lake, not too close, not too far. She still had the games fresh in her mind. She was sure when she went in she wouldn't be coming back. Even after four moons back in Mistclan she was still shocked she had made it out alive. She felt out of place when she had first gotten back. It was like all of her friends had expected her to die. She couldn't believe how quickly they had forgotten about her and moved on.
She had made many new friends though, and even connected with some of the old ones. She looked at her reflection in the lake, quietly sitting there. She was constantly worried about the games now. She was sure she would die the next time she went in. No way she would be lucky enough to get out alive twice. The games had taken over her entire life. Her reflection said it all. She looked sad, a beautiful white cat with blazing blue eyes...and yet she was sad. She felt like nothing would ever be right again.

"Skyflight," Minnowleap meowed in greeting, waving her tail as she approached her Clanmate, "Something wrong? You appear to be a bit down." The gray tabby sat next to the other she-cat, swiftly striking a paw under water and bringing up a fish. Of course, this sudden movement in the water caused ripples to surround the young cat's small paws, making her reflection look odd for a few moments, but as was always, the lake calmed itself in a few moments, the strong effect of the rippling lessening.
"I'd suggest hunting," the warrior spoke again, "It's calming being a hunter in MistClan. We don't have a whole lot worry about. If I were a SandClan or RainClan cat, though, I'd worry quite a bit. The water here is nice, is it not?"

Skyflight didn't say anything at first. She looked at Minnowleap and shook her head, trying to be confident. But it was obvious that she was indeed feeling down. It was plastered all over her face that something was wrong. She watched as Minnowleap fished out a nice sized catch. Skyflight didn't say anything at first. Nothing to worry about...how can anyone say that when I have so much to worry about." Skyflight hated bringing up the games, because some cats really liked the games. She just wasn't one of them. "Yeah hunting. That's a good idea." She tried to seem a bit brighter now. "I really do like fishing." She looked down at the lake and swiped her left paw in fast, clawing a fish through the stomach and bringing it up to the shore. Skyflight was a very good hunter, but she especially loved fishing. She couldn't help but wonder, "Why would you worry if you were a Rainclan or Sandclan cat?" Skyflight had been way behind on clan politics since she came out of the games. Maybe this was her chance to catch up.

Littlestream crouched by the edge of the lake, lurking timidly in the shadows of a tall aspen. She watched the other cats intently, trying to decide if she should join them in their hunting. The gray and white femme was, like most MistClan cats, adequate at both hunting and battling, but she preferred to exercise her predatory skills than bloodlust. She recognized the gray tabby, Minnowleap, her almost-friend, but the white she-cat's name was unknown to her until Minnowleap greeted her, though her pelt was familiar. Finally, she stood decisively, arching her back in a stretch, and padded over lightly to the two warriors. "Hello," she purred quietly, shuffling her paws. "I'm Littlestream. Would you mind if I join you?" The question was almost rhetorical, just the pleasantries of greeting someone, but the flighty she-cat hung warily just outside the two cats' 'bubble,' blushing as if rejection was inevitable.

"Their territories must make it hard for them to feel comfortable while they're hunting. SandClanners have to worry about those.. what are they called?" Minnowleap paused for a moment, looking out into the distance before remembering, "Ah, yes, scorpions - the poisonous little things. Those cats also have to watch out for snakes and other things, whereas our predators are a lot larger, so they don't sneak up on us as well. RainClan, on the other hand, has to deal with all of those gross spiders and things of that nature, and it's a lot harder to escape in such thick vegetation."
"Of course not, Littlestream," Minnowleap replied without looking back, not taking into consideration that Skyflight might answer differently. However, she didn't care too much - as far as she knew, these two warriors didn't have any problems with each other, and they were all Clanmates, so why should it matter, right? "We were just talking about hunting and what it might be like in the other Clans."

Skyflight was slightly confused as she tried to search her brain for the creatures name that Minnowleap was talking about. "Oh yes! Those just sound awful. I wouldn't feel comfortable hunting with scorpians around either. I don't mind snakes too much but they sure are sneaky. I would hate to step on one. Spiders are truly disgusting though. Nothing with that many legs can be natural. They have to be evil." All those legs on spiders had always made Skyflight feel uncomfortable.
Skyflight gave a friendly nod before saying, "Of course you can join us." Skyflight didn't know her name, but she had seen the cat around, and she seemed nice enough. Skyflight never missed the chance to make a new friend.

Littlestream shivered at the thought of — what were they? Sropions? Sorpions? Scorpions? She smiled a little when the two she-cats welcomed her and shuffled her paws. "I'm glad we live in MistClan," she offered, cheeks burning. "Hunting's easy." Boldly, she added, "Besides, who would want to live in a desert, without any water?" She glanced at the soothing waves lapping a few centimeters from her paws and reached out to dip her paw in experimentally. Cold washed over her fur like an icy bath, and she shook herself, shaking the water off her paw. "The water is chilly, though. Don't want kits to catch a cold." [[ lazy; gtg ]]
