General Questions
Q: Does my character have to start as a kit?
A: No. If you follow the application, there a part where you put the rank of your character. Just state it there, and a staff member will change your group to it.
Q: How do characters rank up?
A:
Kits rank up to apprentices 12 days after their acceptance or birth, and when the leader wants to hold ceremonies.
Apprentices rank up to warriors one month after becoming warriors, or after completing one hunting and fighting session, one border patrol, and one assessment.
Warriors rank up to elders when their RPers decide.
Q: How does aging work?
A: Aging works basically however the RPers want their character/s to age. Kits and apprentices have certain points of time (as explained above) as to when they'll get to the next rank, but other than that, a character's age is whatever the RPer wants.
Q: What names are accepted here?
A: If the prefix/suffix was used in the Warriors books (minus several in SkyClan, such as Billy- and Ebony-), then it is allowed here. If not, then not. The only exceptions are Thunder, River, Wind, Shadow, and Sky. They weren't used in the books because they were Clan names, but we allow them here. ^^
Personally, I use this to check whether a prefix or suffix can or cannot be used.
Q: With the above logic, does that mean you don't accept Fern-, Rain-, Sand-, and Mist- (the Clan names here)?
A: No. We still accept those.
Q: How are high positions chosen?
A: I choose the leaders and medicine cats. Leaders discuss with me about who their Clan's deputy should be while medicine cats converse with me about who their apprentice should be when they're ready for an apprentice. The chosen cat will be messaged asking whether or not they wish to take on the position.
Q: Can I become staff?
A: Well, asking drops your chances to about 0, which is why I'm putting this question here.
I hand-pick my staff based on literacy (do not read as 'writing 500 words per post'. Literacy is the ability to read and write, so essentially, I want people who have decent grammar and spelling. No, this doesn't mean you have to be perfect (nobody is), but I don't want people who type like little kids as staff), activity, how long they've been here, and a few other things.
The ranks of staff go as follows:
App-checker: This is the first rank. Unless I know you from my other forum or something, you'll probably start at this rank no matter what. App-checkers check applications and roll for litters.
Moderator: This is the second rank. You'll get here if you've been an app-checker for a while, have a lot of knowledge on the forum, and I feel I can trust you with more power.
Co-admin: This is the third and final rank. If you're a great moderator, maybe you'll make it here some day! Co-admins must have a great knowledge of the forum to answer questions properly (once again, perfection is never expected here) and help me out with other duties. Getting to this rank requires a lot of trust and a pretty great need for another co-admin.
PLEASE NOTE THAT PLAYING A HIGH POSITION CHARACTER DOES NOT MAKE YOU STAFF IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. YOU HAVE CONTROL OF YOUR CLAN AND THAT'S ABOUT IT, AND NO, YOU CAN'T CHECK APPLICATIONS FOR YOUR CLAN.
If your question is not listed here, please feel free to PM me. I'll be glad to answer and if I believe it to be a question that will be often asked, I'll most likely add it to this list.
Warrior Games Questions
Q: What if I don't want my character to die?
A: Then you shouldn't have made that character. Like in the Hunger Games books, every cat in the Clans within the age range has a chance of being chosen for the Games. The only way to gain immunity is to ask someone OOC or IC if they'll volunteer as tribute, and that is to be done after your character has been announced in the Gathering to have been selected.
Q: Can my character volunteer as tribute?
A: As long as the RPer of the first selected character is okay with it, then yes. If they want their character in the Games, then that is their choice and you must accept that.
Q: What ages can a cat go into the Games?
A: Anywhere from apprentice to elder, minus leaders with more than one life. Yes, queens are included in this.
Q: How many tributes per Clan?
A: Two, but they won't always be opposite genders like in the books.
Q: Will every Game include death?
A: Not every game, but most. There will be some where there are multiple winners; for example, a tree-climbing contest may have multiple winners, depending on how many cats reach the top/certain point in the tree.
Q: Is the only way to lose the Games death?
A: Once again, not every game. Some games may have IC time limits in which RPers must have their characters do certain things, and if they're not done in time, the cat they play has lost.
